Talk About Inspiration...

I just finished Ray Bradbury's Fahrenheit 451.  What a great read.  The man has an amazing ability to apply poetry to fiction, and weave a story with incredible detail.  Just loved it, and I usually am not the biggest fan of more futuristic fantasy works.

I am so inspired to work at the craft of writing right now.  If I could craft a story-spell with even one tenth of the skill of that man, I would be one very happy writer.  :)

  1. I don't know. This is my personal opinion, but his work was a little depressing to me. It seemed very defeatist, and like there is very little hope for humanity. Of course, this attitude may come from my reading "The Martian Chronicles."

  2. I didn't read that one yet. I do agree that he does lean toward the darker side of human nature, and that is not something I prefer. I had not read anything of his before and was surprised by the poetry element to his writing, the cadence in the descriptions, etc.

  3. I allways liked the darker side of writing look at Poe's work and what he did don't avoid depreshion but use it to add to the spell nothing in life is without a darker side so nothing in writing should be without its darker side as well.
